How to Hear Us

Color photo of a typical portable radio assigned to clients Turning Sight into Sound Radio broadcasts on a special low-power FM frequency through specially tuned radio receivers. Taping for the Blind provides radios free to qualified clients. Our specially tuned radio receivers broadcast on the sideband of 88.7 FM KUHF radio.

You can also hear us on the Secondary Audio Program (SAP) of KUHT-TV, Channel 8, Houston's PBS station. Through our partnership with Houston Public Television, we've extended our broadcast range to a 33-county area around Houston.

Captain Andy's Corner for Kids

We have recently moved our audio programming for children and young adults to the audio archives area of the web site, where they will removed from the radio schedule and  become available only via the Internet.

Captain Andy's Corner for Kids is named in memory of a young former volunteer reader at Taping for the Blind (see details below).  It is new to our web site and currently features the following programs:

Arrow Dragons & Dreams
Arrow Sports Illustrated for Kids
Arrow Teen Time
Arrow Young Adults Book Hour
